In this presentation, researchers look at how the Agile BioFoundry utilizes Techno-economic Analysis and Life Cycle Assessment to guide its bioconversion research. This involves benchmarking current routes, informing future experiments, and supporting the decarbonization of the chemical industry. Findings are shared to support R&D and improve process models in collaboration with the DBTL team. Milestones achieved include demonstrating a target within 20% of the fossil MSP for biosourced β-ketoadipic acid and detailing eight pathways in a manuscript. TEA/LCA has been conducted on various beachhead and exemplar molecules. Yield to product is a key driver of both economic and environmental impacts.
