Naturgy begins construction of photovoltaic facility in Texas

In Spain, Naturgy said it started construction on the Grimes project, its second major photovoltaic facility in the country. This new renewable power plant, located in the state of Texas, will include 210 MW of power that will be able to generate enough zero-emissions electricity to supply approximately 140,000 households, the company said. This project will involve an investment of over $245 million, and it will have a significant impact on economic activity in the area, with the creation of an average of 200 jobs during construction work, reaching around 500 workers at times of peak workload. The facility will comprise 515,000 photovoltaic modules spread out over a 649-hectare area. It is scheduled to become operational by the year 2025, the firm added.
