Mushroom earplugs make concert-going safer and more sustainable

In Brooklyn, a company called GOB is offering an eco-friendly solution for hearing protection. Its new Core Pack earplugs are made from lab-grown mycelium, making them 100% home-compostable and free from harmful chemicals or additives. They also provide 12-decibal noise reduction and are USDA Certified 100% Bio-based.

According to Yanko Design, the mycelium foam evenly dampens sound across all frequencies, providing a balanced acoustic experience without distortion. And unlike traditional foam earplugs, which can muffle certain frequencies, GOB earplugs offer superior sound absorption while maintaining clarity and comfort.  Once used, they break down into nutrients that enrich the soil.
