LSU researchers seeks ways to boost solar power production in Louisiana

In Louisiana, The Advocate reported that a team of Louisiana State University (LSU) researchers has won a $94,000 grant from the Institute for Energy Innovation to study how Louisiana could expand solar power production.
“A big part of our research is to understand and engage how the community would be interested in this kind of work and what their perception is,” said LSU assistant professor Arup Bhattacharya, who leads a team of six researchers that got the grant. “We want to know what is most important to them in terms of solar power generation.”
Bhattacharya said there is plenty of opportunity to think of creative ways to expand solar power production in the state.
“At the end, what we are trying to do is generate a design framework that looks at all of this qualitative and quantitative data, people’s perspectives, engineering design and energy usage,” he said.
