Golden Triangle Regional Airport installs Mississippi’s first electric aviation charger
In the UK, Regional Gateway reported that BETA Technologies, Golden Triangle Regional Airport (GTR) and Avflight have partnered to install and commission the first ever electric aviation charging station in the state of Mississippi. The deployment was made in partnership with 4-County Electric Power Association, who served as the utility partner bringing the chargers online for public access. The BETA charging stations are designed to be multimodal and interoperable, with one Level 3 Fast-Charger located inside the airside fence to be primarily used by electric aircraft, and one Level 2 Charger located outside the car-side fence to be primarily used by members of the public who drive electric vehicles. “As electric transportation continues to grow, and electric aviation specifically moves closer to market operations, charging infrastructure will only become more and more important,” said Nate Ward, Head of Network Development, BETA.
