BAT makes investment in biomass-fuelled heating plant in Croatia
In Bulgaria, SeeNews reported that British American Tobacco said it has invested $5.1 million in a new biomass-fuelled heating plant at its cigarette factory in Kanfanar, aiming to cut the factory’s CO2 emissions by 65%.
This investment has brought the overall value of the company’s investments in sustainability projects in the last two years to nearly $20 million in Croatia,” CEO of BAT Adria cluster Zvonko Kolobara said during a presentation of the plant.
BAT acquired the factory in Kanfanar, on the Istria peninsula, in 2015 when it took over local tobacco company Tvornica Duhana Rovinj (TDR), according to the report.
