ERCOT express concerns about growing reliance of renewable energy on Texas’s grid

In Texas, The Dallas Morning News reported that the head of ERCOT has raised alarms about the growing reliance of renewable energy on Texas’ grid.

ERCOT CEO Pablo Vegas said he was worried due to the fact that the combined output of wind and solar, which can provide as much as 40% of Texas’ power at times.

“We are completely depending on the availability of intermittent resources to meet peak demands,” Vegas said “And that’s happening on a regular basis now and will continue to happen on a regular basis going forward.”
