Biofuels industries in US and Canada winding down in light of Trump policies

In Washington, Reuters reports biofuel producers in both the US and Canada are concerned about the trade implications of US President Trump’s wavering views on tariffs, so have dialed back production in response to stave off potential problems at the border later on. Some analysts expect to see “painful” retraction in both biodiesel and renewable diesel production, not just due to the impacts of tariffs but also the potential removal of blending credits that came in under the Biden administration.
