Dry weather eases pressure on Argentina’s 2024-2025 corn crop, study finds
In Argentina, La Nacion reported that Argentine corn production is expected to reach 48.2 million tons in the 2024/2025 season, 1.0 percent above the previous projection, thanks to the arrival of dry weather after weeks of heavy rains and “much more moderate conditions” in the Pampas region, LSEG.
The LSEG report noted that “most of the main producing regions of the eastern Pampas finally experienced the arrival of dry weather last week (except for some parts of northern Córdoba),” following heavy rains that affected crops.
“The entire agricultural region of Buenos Aires, the hardest hit by late-season flooding, has barely received any rainfall in the last 10 days, which has provided enormous relief to stressed plants,” the report said.
LSEG also noted that “the overall progress of the harvest should continue as planned without major problems,” as dry weather is expected to continue at least until early April.
